We’re delighted to announce that we have reached our Raise the Roof target!
We’ve received a donation of £500 from Reepham Festival, which takes us over the £10,000 finish line. This generous donation was in addition to the money we raised both by selling items from the Charity Shop and other fundraising over the Festival weekend, which brought in approximately another £500.
The Raise the Roof Campaign was launched on 31 March 2023 with an aim to raise £10,000 towards the repairs needed to the roof and attics at the Bircham Centre. The £10,000 target was part of the match funding needed to allow us to benefit from a £20,000 grant from Broadland District Council’s Pride in Place initiative.
Les West, Chair of the Bircham Centre Charity Trustees, was delighted with the donation and with the success of the Raise the Roof campaign. “This is a perfect example of the way different organisations within Reepham can work together”, he said. “We’d like to extend our thanks to Reepham Festival and to everyone who has sponsored a tile or supported one of our fundraising events. Reepham has done us proud: thanks to all of you, we are able to maintain the building so it can be enjoyed by many generations to come.”
However, the fundraising doesn’t stop now that the initial target has been achieved: the Bircham Centre still needs to find funds for additional costs that need to be covered so the JustGiving page will remain open for the time being.
