In the Deep Mid-Winter…

Christmas is behind us but there’s a while to go before the weather will start to warm up. The Bircham Centre is continuing its Warm Space sessions in Room 7 on a Monday morning from 9am to 1pm providing free hot drinks and refreshments. These sessions are supported by Community Hot-Spot funding from Norfolk Community Foundation, and staffed by our Bircham Centre volunteers. Should you have time to help with initiatives like this or could bake a cake for an event, please get in touch. Barry Barker, who previously ran the book stall in the Market Place for us, will be with us for the Winter Warm sessions on the last Monday of each month, and he will be presenting a local quiz at 10.30am. All are welcome for a warm, a slice of cake and a cuppa and a little bit of social fun. There will be a quiz prize of a £5 voucher to use in the charity shop/pre-loved book room.

Another highlight for February is the weekend 25/26 February when our group of fabulously talented local artists and makers, RAM, will take over the Bircham. They will be exhibiting their arts and crafts in Room 7 and offering free workshops in Room 8 and the garden. Support from a small fund from Broadland District Council will help facilitate this, with the artists gifting their time and skills. The Bircham will provide refreshments over the weekend.

Keep your eyes peeled for a major fundraising campaign we will be launching very soon. 2023 is going to be an amazing year for your Bircham Centre…

And finally… Don’t forget that donations to the Bircham Charity Shop and Book Room are only accepted on a Tuesday morning between 10am and 12pm.
