We’re thrilled to be able to report that we have received a Greening our Community grant of £2,000 from Norfolk Community Foundation to help us further develop the Bircham Centre Garden.
The grant is given to help us to “improve our local environment while providing people with the benefits of connecting with nature”. We’ll use it in three ways:
- To purchase things like cold frames, cloches and large compost bins which will widen our ability to grow on seedlings and produce more of our own plants. If we have additional produce and plants, we will share them with our local community, greening everyone’s garden with plants suited to our local environment.
- To purchase and install labels so plants within the lovely walled garden can be identified, enhancing people’s enjoyment of the space.
- To organise gardening workshops and activities to get people out into this fabulous green space to learn about seed saving, propagation and growing on, to support them in their own gardening ventures.
