Did you know that 19 November is World Toilet Day?
World Toilet Day is a UN designated day to push for action for the 1.7 billion people on the planet who still don’t have a life-saving toilet.
Good sanitation and clean drinking water are fundamental to communities. Yet 1 in 4 people worldwide don’t have somewhere safe, private, or hygienic to go to the toilet. The human and economic impact of this is enormous.
As part of the refurbishment of the Bircham Centre hallway, we’re proud to have twinned our two toilets – one with a latrine in Zambia and the other with a latrine in Malawi…!
It’s another example of the Reepham local community reaching out to people in need in developing countries.
