Buy a Painting to Support the Bircham Centre

We are delighted to announce that one of our wonderful Trustees, Ian McGilvray, is presenting an exhibition of his paintings, all of which he has donated to the Bircham Centre.

The exhibition will take place on the evening of Saturday 6 December from 6 pm to 8 pm and during the day on Sunday 7 December from 10 am to 3 pm in the downstairs Front Room at the Centre.

A total of sixteen paintings, detailed below, will be available for purchase at the exhibition. Offers for the paintings are invited at a minimum of £100 each. Every penny raised from the sale of these works will go directly to the Bircham Centre charity, providing crucial support for its ongoing activities.  This remarkable act of generosity from Ian comes as he approaches the end of his six-year term as a Trustee in 2026, marking the culmination of his long-standing dedication and commitment to the Centre over the years.

Raffle Prize: Magical Morn, Thursford Woods

In addition, Ian has given a further painting which will be raffled during the exhibition.  Tickets for the raffle will be sold at £2 each.  This painting is entitled “Magical Morn, Thursford Woods”.

Ian’s paintings are oil on canvas and feature a range of countryside and coastal scenes.  Many capture the beauty of our local area with titles such as “Jewelled Fields, Kerdiston Road”, and “Dawn Tide Rising, Wells” but others reflect visits he has made to other parts of the UK and Europe such as “Spring to the Light, Bakewell” and “Reflections, Dordogne”.

We are so grateful to Ian for this hugely generous gift to the Bircham Centre charity.  Please visit the exhibition and buy a raffle ticket – and a painting, if you can!
