Over fifty people attended a series of free creative workshops hosted by Reepham Artists and Makers (RAM) in the Bircham Centre over the course of the last weekend in February.
The workshops were fully booked, allowing those attending to learn new skills and produce something beautiful. They created collage birds, painted sailboats, copper roses and fused glass eggs. RAM artists included Carolyn Penney, Nicola Draycott, Tom Crisp, Sue Johnston and Emily Longhurst.
Places at the workshops were popular and were fully booked within a short time of their announcement. They were held in the garden and meeting rooms in the Bircham Centre. Budding artists were provided with all the necessary materials, funded by a small grant from Broadland District Council, and were able to leave proudly carrying their creations.
Bircham Centre Manager, Polly Brockis, was thrilled with the success of the weekend. “It was wonderful to hear the buzz of conversation and see the pride and joy felt by everyone involved. This is exactly the kind of thing that the Bircham Centre is keen to promote: activities that improve the skills and wellbeing of Reepham’s community”.
